About Early Years Lens

Early Years Lens was created from two deep passions that have shaped my life: supporting young children as an ECE teacher, and capturing the genuine, wonder-filled moments that make childhood so special. After years in early childhood education, I saw firsthand how quickly children grow and how meaningful it is for whānau to have beautiful, authentic images of these early years. At the same time, I realised how much joy I found in photographing those small but unforgettable moments — the proud smiles, the curious eyes, the tiny friendships forming day by day.

Combining those passions felt natural. I wanted to offer something to centres that wasn’t just “photo day,” but an experience grounded in understanding how young children learn, feel, and connect.

That’s how Early Years Lens began — as a service created by an ECE teacher, for ECE communities.

Today, I work with centres across Aotearoa to provide warm, natural portraits, sibling photos, and class images that truly reflect each child’s personality. My approach is guided by my teaching background: patience, respect, and an ability to connect with tamariki at their level so they feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

But Early Years Lens is also about giving back. Every gallery supports your centre through a simple, meaningful fundraising model that helps to provide extra financial support for the centre which can always be a blessing.
